Emerging Elites: Indo-Muslim Art in Transition

San Diego Museum of Art. 1450 El Prado, San Diego.  The works on view here - many for the first time - focus on the artistic transitions that took place in Indo-Muslim cultural centers in the 18th and 19th centuries. Exploring the continuities and creative transformations in Indian paintings between 1739, the year Delhi was attacked by Nader Shah from Iran, and 1858, the year India became a British colony.  www.sdmart.org.
