Experience Costa Mesa's Theater & Arts District - November 2008

November 6 - 8

Orange County Performing Arts Center presents Bill Medley

When Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield first sang together in 1962, in an OC nightclub, no one imagined what was about to happen. By 1964, “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling” was at the top of the charts and The Righteous Brothers were music icons. Back by popular demand! Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall. 714-556-2787. www.ocpac.org.

November 7 – 23

South Coast Repertory presents Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing

Judy Blume’s enormously popular book hits the stage with hilarity, and sibling rivalry has never been so much fun. Two-year-old Fudge is having fun, and so is the audience, but big brother Peter has had enough. When Fudge isn’t throwing tantrums or scribbling on Peter’s homework, he’s eating flowers. But when Peter’s turtle ends up in Fudge’s tummy, it’s time for drastic measures. Julianne Argyros Stage. 714-708-5555. www.scr.org.

November 11 - 16

Orange County Performing Arts Center presents The San Francisco Ballet

As part of its 75th anniversary season, San Francisco Ballet makes a much-anticipated return to the Center. The superb dancers of America’s oldest professional ballet company will perform ballets by George Balanchine and Helgi Tomasson, as well as new works from its 2008 Repertory Season. This is a celebratory event that dance lovers won’t want to miss. Segerstrom Hall. 714-556-2787. www.ocpac.org.

November 29 - December 27

South Coast Repertory presents A Christmas Carol

Join us as we celebrate the holidays and recapture the spirit of an old-fashioned Christmas with the 29th annual staging of this timeless Dickens’ classic. Once again, Tiny Tim, Bob Cratchit and, of course, Ebenezer Scrooge himself will bring 19th-century London to life in Orange County’s favorite Christmas tradition. Segerstrom Stage. 714-708-5555. www.scr.org.
