A, B, Sea Club

January 6, 10, 11, 12, 15, 16, and 24. Birch Aquarium at Scripps. 2300 Expedition Way, La Jolla.  The A, B, Sea Club at Birch is a great way for families to introduce the wonderful world of the ocean to children ages 4 and younger.  This family event features sea animals in interactive one-day programs designed for early childhood learners.  Each class includes aquarium exhibits, live animal encounters, and a free-play experience.  858-534-FISH. www.aquarium.ucsd.edu.

Gangsters, Glamour and Glory

Daily. 10am – 5pm. San Diego Air and Space Museum Balboa Park. 2001 Pan American Plaza, San Diego.  Come check out the latest exhibit at the San Diego Air and Space Museum.  Gangsters, Glamour, and Glory: Forging America's Future in the 1930s features incredible historical items from all over the US, including the Bonnie and Clyde Ford – the actual car they drove into the ambush and to their death in the early 30s.  This exhibit showcases a unique period in our country's history, from gangsters on and off the silver screen, and the glamour of design, fashion, Hollywood and talking pictures, to the glory of the record setters and America’s strength in the mist of the Great Depression.

Whale Watching on Hornblower

Daily. Departures at 9:30am and 1:30pm. Hornblower Cruises and Events. 1066 N. Harbor Drive, San Diego.  Partnered with the San Diego Natural History Museum, Hornblower Cruises and Events offers 3.5-hour tours of SD’s Big Bay, chock full of narrative about marine life, an onboard Whale Exhibit, and of course, up-close-and-personal gray whale sightings.  619-686-8715. www.hornblower.com.
