Medieval Times: Action. Excitement. Romance.

Anja Brydum

More action. More romance. This summer, experience North America’s longest-running family dinner attraction, featuring a bevy of new dramatic elements alongside timeless favorites. Prepare yourself for an adventure fit for royalty at Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament.

The 11th Century
Medieval Times invites you to time travel back to the 11th century. A time of jousting, swordplay, horsemanship, romance, and falconry. A time of Spanish castles, Knights of the Realm, and true medieval, utensil-free dining. And while you’ll still find yourself immersed in a two-hour extravaganza of chivalry, rivalry and revelry, the authentic jousting tournament promises to keep you at the edge of your seat.

Medieval Spain
Imagine the scene. A spectacular seating hall filled with 1,100 of the King's invited guests. The six boldest knights in the kingdom are readied for the festivities. A bountiful four-course feast is served in true medieval-style, without silverware. The jousting tournament begins, and mounted knights clash with lances, swords and spears. Hope you're prepared for an unforgettable evening of adventure and excitement for the entire family.

Four-Legged Stars
While almost all of the royal subjects at Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament stand on their own two feet, the most celebrated members of the Kingdom are best known for their trot, gallop and canter. When they aren’t performing gravity-defying jumps and stylish walks to delight Castle guests, behind-the-scenes, Spanish Andalusian stallions, Quarter Horses, Friesians, and Menorcan receive special treatment. The horse stalls are lined with special-design floor padding, a $1,000-per-stall luxury that’s easy on the hooves. The stalls also feature accoutrements like pressure-activated bowls flowing with fresh water when the horses need a drink, and the finest alfalfa-rich hay trucked in from regional farms.

During the show, each step of the 1,300-pound horses defy gravity. With delicate and precise movements timed to every eighth note of the new Medieval Times soundtrack, a graceful equestrian ballet comes to life. And like true performers, each horse is completely unique and requires training suited for its individual personality. The result: Medieval Times’ four-legged stars step into the spotlight and dazzle audience night after night.

The Buena Park Castle
Not far from Hollywood is another legendary mecca – Medieval Times’ California Castle. This fortress-like, 1,116 seat Spanish palace is right at home with red tile roofs, palm trees and the blazing SoCal sun. And its location couldn’t be better. The castle is only minutes from Disneyland, near the Santa Ana and Artesia freeways. Most of all, the show’s stunning battle sequences and authentic Medieval tournament offer one thing Hollywood doesn’t: the thrill of live action.
