PURE FUN: L.A. County Fair

Here in LA, fall might be drawing near, but we’ve still got a few tricks up our sleeves. The 88th edition of the L.A. County Fair opens Labor Day weekend, continuing through October 3, with a passport to attractions, entertainment, shopping, and the best eats you’ll find in LA (at least for 23 days) – all at an affordable price.

What’s New?
If you want an educational attraction, Our Body: The Universe Within features over 30 human specimens and organs displaying the fascinating inner workings of the human body. Or maybe Western Days & Rodeo Nights is more your style, bringing a plethora of wild and wooly western events to FairView Farms. Just don’t forget to let the kids participate in some interactive fun with Esmeralda’s Traveling Circus.

What’s Tried and True?
With a roar and a rumble, the L.A. County Fair brings back dinosaurs at Jurassic Planet with an amazing array of animatronic dinosaurs, a paleontologist, fossil digs, and a few surprises, too. Plus, discover pure fun over at A Pirate’s Life, Mojo’s Jungle, and Ray Cammack Shows carnival, chock full of 70 spectacular rides and more than 40 games of skill.

Shop Till You Drop
Attention all shoppers (oh, you know who you are). Hop on the Shopping Place Express Shuttle and discover more than 600 vendors with 1,045 spaces filled with new must-have items and returning favorites - a perfect opportunity to get a jump on the holiday shopping list.

Sing with the Stars
The End of Summer Concert Series will definitely rock you. You’ll find the biggest names in entertainment including Selena Gomez And the Scene, Darius Rucker, Daryl Hall & John Oates, Teena Marie, Heatwave, and Lenny Williams.

A Price You Can Afford
Perhaps the greatest attraction at the Fair this year is the value. There are so many discounts and promotions offering reduced ticket pricing, you can’t afford NOT to come. The L.A. County Fair is at Fairplex at 1101 W. McKinley Ave., Pomona. The Fair runs September 4 – October 3 and is closed Mondays and Tuesdays (except Labor Day weekend). For more information, call 909-623-3111 or log on to lacountyfair.com.
