Hi all! Though technically a transplant from Boston, I've lived in Orange County since about the age of one year, so I at least feel like a true native of Southern California. After moving from the north to the southern part of OC a while back, I found that I was only about an hour from San Diego, which ended up being so convenient that I'm probably doing things there often as I am now in Orange County itself, at least for entertainment these days. I traded in most of my prior hobbies not long ago for photography, as everyone who knows me now knows all too well. The great thing about taking photos though, is that I constantly need new, cool places to see and go to take them. The fact that it's the only hobby that I've ever had that actually makes a little money doesn't hurt either, and once in a while even comes in handy when a friend or family member has a special event they would like covered. Southern California is a great place for that, and definitely one of the best things about living and visiting here is the nearly constant fabulous weather. It makes planning day trips and local events extremely simple, since it's almost never (or so it seems) a bad day to go. Usually, the need to put on a sweatshirt with your shorts is about as rough as it gets, so all in all I'd say it lives up to the reputation. I'm definitely looking forward to exploring off the beaten path a bit more, since even after a lifetime of living here, there is still a ton of things still left to see. I'm hoping to go to some new places that you'll find interesting as well, and will want to go see them for yourself because of it. It's always better when you have the inside scoop! Enjoy.
